In this term, I will be working on my third Major Project to further develop my skills connected with my progression route and I will write another essay. These assessments demand from me deep reflection to figure out interesting ideas, create good work, appropriate presenting my progress on the project and many other. I have hope that I will find a sources which inspiring and I will be happy with the final results of my work.
I want to start this term by showing here my kind of inspiration connected with my progression route- a filmmaker who learn me to think unconventionally, look more at the surrounding world.
at least that's how I perceive his work
Michael Glawogger- Australian director and scriptwriter famous in documental films has created few really overwhelming documents that present various hard phenomena in the world, for instance: people from different parts of the world which working in exhausting physical work.
It is difficult to watch document. Scenes can be frightening and even disgusting - work with the slaughter of meat but I think that is worth creating this kind of film in the world of consumerism when everyone has heating in a house, unfortunately probably eat meat and live without awareness of the work that must be put in so that could have it all.
The next really depressed, evokes empathy for me document and at the same time making that I appreciate my social status and life opportunities more is the film in the title,, Megacities'' which present the life of the poorest people in a metropolis.
In my opinion, Michael Glawogger has created this kind of documents to raise awareness about difficult matters in society, the world which we do not think about every day. I think that he was a really empathetic and sensitive to world problems man. I was curious about his next moving productions. He, unfortunately, has died in 2014 of malaria in Liberia during the creation of the next documentary.
I admire his way of living because I am a born traveller and I want to educate about the world. He spends his life exploring the globe, but not from the touristic side. He had to,, understand these places, live these places'' to create good documents what in my opinion something amazing.
,, As in most of Mr. Glawogger’s films, the narration in “Megacities” is sparse; he said he wanted viewers to come to their own conclusions...'' - Douglas Martin
