Week five- research about the language (for editing)

I illustrated that every film review includes so many adjectives which help to tell the story and make the review much more interesting.

In my discourse, I will use many adjectives because in my opinion, it is crucial in the description of the film, actors and every different aspect of the film

It is important to not use the common adjectives associated in film reviews as: cinematic’, ‘stylish’, ‘thought-provoking (Klevan, Klyton, 2011).

I will try to avoid typical, common adjectives especially in the style of writing above

According to (Klevan, Klyton, 2011) the best criticism deepens our interest in individual films, reveals new meanings and perspectives. I will try to write about my thoughts on the film which I hope adds something new in terms of ,,Cast Away'' film reviews

I checked the style of writing the respectful film critics and I illustrated that he using more sophisticated adjectives: Artless, unconversant

I also noticed that he use a substantial amount of adjectives: for instance when describing the scene he write: Potentially fatally, he’s now in Ace’s sites, and Antonio is stupid enough to go along with the some low-lifes to steal a bunch of fancy motorcycles from a garage.

he uses adjectives to better describing and make the review more interesting

In the second example his review I noticed that he try to use adjectives to add some creativity in describing

Set in a colourful, dusty district outside the city of N’djamena (Mccarthy,2021)  - he uses adjectives to describing the appearance of the city in an interesting way. Rarely we can hear the term,, dusty district'
He creates an interesting construction which in consequence grabs the attention

When he wrote about a different part of history: But despite a very bland generalized offer of comfort and support from the local imam (Mccarthy,2021)

bland  offer- is also an unconventional way of describing

The other artist which I checked the review is review Han Brooks writed to the Guardian to check the construction with adjectives.

As I thought the situation is the same: critic using interesting, unconventional construction
,,Sundown shows Neil’s decision, then proceeds to stroll alongside him like an innocent party'' Brooks (2021). He comprising showing the decision of the protagonist in the film as innocent party- its interesting

During the description of film, he using many adjectives: No sooner has Neil shoved tear-stained Alice and the kids through the departure gate than he’s away in a cab, bound for downtown Acapulco. Now he’s holed up at the rackety Hotel Camelinas.  - He could could just write: crying and hotel without specifying,,rackety hotel but such a description shows the stories better so that the recipient, reading the reviews, is able to imagine it

next examples: ,,Is he sick in the head or an out-and-out sociopath? It turns out that the Bennetts are the fabulously wealthy heirs to a meatpacking business'' - Brooks (2021)
It makes reading reviews more attractive, not boring

I would like t use my knowledge to improving my work- Firstly I write as I could

Next step- highlighting the adjectives which are in my opinion boring and typical to change it to something more unconvincial

Cast Away it is there is an adventure drama constructed in 2000 and directed by Robert Zemeckis. The film is appreciated all over the world cult in some circles as well as the other films where appeals the well-known and award-winning actor Tom Hanks known primarily for his great acting in the movie, forest Gump’’ where he also played the crucial role.  It is the story of a workaholic man named Chuck who, as a consequence of a tragic plane crash taking place somewhere in the Pacific, becomes the only survivor who ends up on a desert Island and faces his own fear and loneliness. Once an employee of the largest courier companies in the world, completely devoted to his duties, under the influence of tragedy, is forced to adapt to completely new unfavourable conditions. In the film, his transformation is presented under the influence of the passage of time and loneliness that permeates him. Observing his stay on the island is undoubtedly a thrilling experience despite the limited dialogue and the action on the film taking place in a limited space. We get on the plate the path of survival in the so-far unknown conditions of an ordinary man, in whose place, under the influence of unfortunate events, each of us could be. In the film, the need for contact with another person have shown in a great way which added authenticity to the main character.  The scene in which the main character, trying to generate a flame and unfortunately injures his hand, to finally throw out the ball, found in one of the packages fished out of the water for which he was responsible in the courier's earlier life, a long way ahead of him, becomes the beginning of the creation of a "friend" 'main character. When the survivor calmed down and wandered for the thrown Ball, he noticed that the trace of blood from his hand formed a stain on it resembling a human face. He quickly painted his nose, mouth and eyes in its place, placing the ball on the tree trunk and still her name Wilson. The ball became the confidant of his plans and thoughts. This film performance depicting the tragedies of a lonely man and his ways of dealing with them can shock and deeply stuck in the memory. the film presents many scenes that evoke difficult emotions, for instance: one of them was the removal of a painful tooth which he complained about before crashing. I will not reveal the details, but it is for sure a moment that everyone remembers after watching the screening.

distinguished - sound better and with not typical adjectives

after new  unfavourable...... conditions- I will add hard to bear

to have more adjectives that describing the situation and position of the character

after the adding more adjectives

Cast Away is an adventure drama constructed in 2000 and directed by Robert Zemeckis. The film is appreciated all over the world, a cult film in some circles as well as in other films where appeals the famous and award-winning actor Tom Hanks, known primarily for his great acting in the film Forest Gump, "where he also played key roles. As always, it is the story of a man named Chuck, completely in love and absorbed in his work, who, as a result of a tragic plane crash somewhere in the Pacific, becomes the only survivor to a desert island. He begins to deal with his own fear and loneliness. Once an employee of the larges courier company in the world, with a loving wife and warm family by his side, under the influence of the tragic accident, he is forced to adapt to completely new, hard to bear, unfavourable, hard to bear conditions. In the film, we observe a huge transformation of the protagonist, which took place under the influence of the passage of time and the loneliness that permeated him. Watching his stay on the island is undoubtedly an exciting experience, despite the limited dialogue and the fact that the story focuses on only one person. Tom Hanks did not disappoint, even in such a demanding role that requires a full sense of the survivor's skin. We find ourselves on the plate of survival in previously unknown conditions of an ordinary man, in whose place, under the influence of unfortunate events, each of us could have found ourselves. In the film, the need for contact with another person was perfectly shown, which gave the protagonist authenticity. The scene in which the main character tries to light a flame and unfortunately wounds his arm and finally throws the ball, found in one of the small packages fished out of the water, for which he was responsible in the courier's earlier life, becomes the beginning of the creation of an imaginary "friend".

Part of my work before editing:

When the survivor calmed down and wandered for the thrown ball, he noticed that the trace of blood from his hand formed a stain on it resembling a human face. He quickly painted his nose, mouth and eyes in its place, placing the ball on the tree trunk and still her name Wilson. The ball became the confidant of his plans and thoughts. The film does not directly convey a clear message: we are not designed to be completely isolated from other people. It was a performance depicting the tragedies of a lonely man and his ways of dealing with them. It can shock and be deeply stuck in the memory. For me, one of them was the removal of a painful tooth which he complained about before crashing. It is a shocking example of how Chuck had to adapt to the prevailing conditionalities. A well-mannered man travelling by plane around the premises of a company which, or in one of the scenes, records his wife's voice message about planning a visit to the dentist because of recurrent toothache, on the island as a shipwrecked man he removes him with a shifter - a tool that he had at his disposal.

After:

As the survivor calmed down and started to get the innocent ball thrown, he noticed that the trail of blood from his hand had created a strange stain on it resembling a human face. He quickly painted his nose, mouth and eyes in its place, placing the ball on the tree trunk and giving her the name Wilson. The ball became a confidant, a patient listener of his plans and thoughts. The film conveys an indirect, clear, logical message: we are not designed to be completely isolated from other people. It was a tragic spectacle of a lonely man and his ultimate ways of dealing with them. The film, thanks to its great structure, presents many moments that can shock and be deeply remembered. For me, one of them was the removal of the painful tooth that the courier had complained about before the accident. This is a macabre, frightening example of what conditions Chuck had to adapt to - a well-mannered man traveling around the world by plane to reach the headquarters of the companies where he worked, in one of the scenes he records a voice message directed to his wife about planning a visit to the dentist due to recurrent pain tooth. Unfortunately, he did not manage to do it and instead, on the island, as a shipwrecked man, he removes him thanks to the skid - the tool he had at his disposal.

Before:

The film illustrates the character's transformation, we get a heavy dose of painful realities with which our protagonist has to come to terms. After returning to his hometown, nothing is the same as before, including him

After:.

The film illustrates Chuck of  transformation, we get a large dose of painful realities with which our protagonist has to come to terms with. After returning to his hometown, nothing is the same as before, including him. His loving wife is no longer with him, instead he must find himself in reality from which he was cut out like sheets of paper with a drawing of his old life

Before:

Robert Zemeckis in his movie portrayed the social differences largely influenced by the Cold War. Chuck's courier arrives in Russia, which will operate in a completely different way than America. The courier chuck comes to the community as a representative of a courier company to instil in them the professional values prevailing in America: he talks about the watch and its importance on every issue. During Chuck's speech, workers from Russia in the background are chatting with each other, the alleged interpreter during his speech tells of Chuck stealing a boy's bicycle when his car broke. They are not convinced by someone from a foreign world, instilling his vision of work. In addition, Chuck brings from America sweets, CDs and walkmans with him. And as a reward, he gives the boy who brings the parcel for him, goods unavailable in Russia after the war. Some employees watch the CD the boy got with interest.

After:
Furthermore, Robert Zemeckis presented the social differences between the untouched war in America, and the dusty Russia gathering together after the past events. Chuck's courier arrives at Fedex's headquarters in Russia, which will operate in a very different way to the one in America. The courier handle comes to the community as a representative of the courier company to instill in its professional values prevailing in America: it tells about the watch and its importance in every matter of life. During Chuck's overtaken, emotional speech trying to get employees to work more efficiently, faster in the background, uninterested Russian workers talk to each other, an alleged interpreter during his speech tells of Chuck stealing a boy's bicycle after his car broke down. They are not convinced by someone from a foreign world, instilling their vision of work. In addition, Chuck brings with him lots of sweets, colorful CDs and Walkmans. As a reward for delivering a package that Chuck continues to call himself from America to check how long he will get to his hand, he gives the boy gifts. Among others, the aforementioned albums, which were poorly available in Russia after the war. Some of the staff are watching with interest the CD the boy got.

Before:

One cannot forget about the evoking of the emotional soundtrack accompanying the last moments of the film. From the return of Chack to the display of subtitles during which we can hear waves commemorating what the protagonist has gone through. I can't imagine choosing the musical setting better

After:

It is not possible to forget about a mentioned adding a beautiful, soundtrack at
the end of the film Cast Away to accompany the lasts moments of the serving by Zuckemns to the watchers' emotional galimatias. From the return of Chack to the display of subtitles, during which you can hear the gentle waves of the ocean, which is an interesting way to emphasize what the hero has gone through. I cannot imagine a better selection of the musical setting

I highlighted some adjectives in the text but is many more. Based on my research I made my film review longer, richer with details. As you can see I tried used interesting adjective as emotional galimatias, dusty Russia and adding many adjectives to better describing. In my opinion, this research was very useful and substantially have improved my discourse.
